Junior Instruction
Roy was the first certified instructor I ever worked with, and his influence on my game has stayed with me throughout my career. As a young player, Roy helped me develop a strong technical and strategic foundation that became the cornerstone of my game. That foundation helped to propel me into my professional billiards career, and the lessons he taught me continue to serve me every time I step to the table. Read more.

Philosophy of instruction
We recognize billiards as a sport. Like any sport, the coaches have a responsibility to address the growth of our students as young individuals. Our goal is to create a learning environment that provides maximum opportunity for each of our students to reach his or her maximum potential. This is not measured in terms of trophies or accolades, but rather the acquisition of discipline, work ethic, teamwork, confidence, and integrity. Accolades and success will follow to each student accordingly.
Red Dragon Billiards Club and Training Center
The Red Dragon Billiards Club and Training Center hosts junior training on Sundays during the school year. We meet from noon to 2:00pm. For the first hour students work on acquiring new skills and perfecting skill sets already acquired. For the second hour students participate in supervised play and competition. Each year we run fundraisers to help the families defray the cost of travel for tournaments, entry fees, as well as acquiring cues etc. If you would like to donate equipment, or make a monetary donation, or if you or your business would like to sponsor a Junior for participation at the Junior Nationals being held in Iowa, please contact us.

Coach Roy's...knowledge of the game and decades of experience are second to none, and his coaching helped me achieve national championship titles that I'll always be proud of. But what I'm most grateful for are the lessons that extended far beyond the pool table.
Roy taught me how to stay calm under pressure, overcome setbacks, trust the fundamentals, and keep improving one step at a time. Those values have stayed with me through college and continue to guide me in my career and everyday life. Read More. Tiana Jiang

Online coaching
When I was just starting to get into pool, my dad and I were looking for someone who could help me improve my game. We found out about Roy from the Break and Run Junior Program.
Roy is so easy to work with, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. For about two years we sent videos back and forth so he could watch my game and help me improve. I could also call him regularly to talk about what I should work on next, and he always made time to help
Roy created online challenges that let me compete with other junior players, even when we lived far apart. Those challenges made practicing more fun and gave me something to work toward. He helped my game grow so much in those early years.
I still see Roy at junior tournaments, and he’s always there supporting me. I’m really grateful for everything he’s done for me.
